I was quite surprised when I heard about Anna Chapman, the Russian spy girl whose Facebook profile pictures made the headlines of newspapers the world over. This particular red-headed femme fatale, a 28- year old NYC resident, and daughter of a Russian diplomat (some say a former KGB agent), was also a tech enterprenuer who was supposedly working as a sleeper agent for the dreaded Russian intelligence agency, KGB.
The interesting thing about Anna is her active "fun" lifestyle, she used to party a lot, attend different business conferences and was overly ambitious. She was actively promoting her apartment rental website business, NYC Rentals. The green-eyed beauty was addicted to the fast-paced life in NY and appeared to be quite an aggressive personality when it comes to business and leadership.
FBI says she was regularly passing confidential information to her home country, gathered by associating herself with the "influential" people during her various rendezvouses, both for business and pleasure. And its not only her, the feds have netted around a dozen spies, more or less in a similar role as Anna.
The investigations might have ended with these arrests, and the legal battle will follow on. But it is quite interesting to see defense of this 21st century Mata Hari avatar, an enterprenuer who is quite embarassed with her "hot" Facebook pictures going viral over the net.
